Good Food, Good Company, Good News!

    ‘Plus One’ Night!

Every Monday night at 4:00pm , Coleg Y Bala usually holds a Bible study and chat for girls. It’s a chance for us to share with our Christian friends, what challenges we’re having in life,  what God has done in our life recently,  and most importantly how to reflect God in your day to day life, to show other people that you are different, and how to cope with it. At the moment we’re going through a book called “Precious”, it’s really good! It’s a book especially written for teenage girls, it helps with all sort of things! From dating guys to how to being a good Christian when you go out clubbing (that sort of thing)!

We all felt in the group that we needed to tell our friends a bit more than what they knew already about our faith, so one night when we were in “Caffi’r Cyfnod” in Bala, Sian had the idea that we all invited one non-Christian friend with us for a nice meal, a good chat, and a sleepover in Coleg Y Bala. Sara came up with the name – Plus One! We decided to put a real effort into making this a memorable night for all of us girls, but especially for our friends, we wanted to show them that Christians were not boring people, but exactly the same as they are, only we had been saved through grace.

So, over the next few weeks we took care of every detail! Catrin did all the “arty” stuff, such as name plates for everyone, Sian did beautiful little gift bags for everyone with shampoo, lipsil, and a heart.

The Mexican food that Sian had cooked  was absolutely delicious, and the dessert was just phenomenal. Between the courses we had games to get to know each other better, and after the pudding Meryl talked to us about her personal experience of becoming a Christian. It was a great encouragement to see one of the girls take advantage in the question time and ask Meryl – “What benefit do you have of becoming a Christian?” Which shows she was thinking about it, and taking everything Meryl had said in. It was even better, and obvious that God was working when she took a Bible home.

This all proves that prayers are answered in an amazing way. We had an amazing night, with God right in the center of it, and we hope to do it again soon!!!

    Wigwam 2010

Last weekend at Coleg y Bala we had a weekend for families, Wigwam! A good number got together to enjoy eachothers company and to learn and grow in our christian faith.

On the Friday night we had a time of worship with Owain, before Rhun Murphy, Ponciau started on his series of looking at Ephesians 6. ” Children, obey to your parents because you belong to the Lord, for this is the right thing to do.”

It was a great opportunity to worship together, and to learn how to love God, and honour Him within the family, around the people that see you everyday, when your  going through allsorts of differnet times! Whilst the children were with  Zoe and Gwilym were looking at “Our Father”, the Father that never let’s us down!

On Saturday afternoon we went to Lake Tegid, Llangower for a picnic and some games, before coming back to the Coleg to play rounders and finishing the weekend with a worship and barbeque!!

    “Amazing!!” – Haf Evans

“I personally enjoyed the Kids Club!” (suprise, suprise!) – Gwilym Jeffs (Childrens Worker)!
